The Pipeline Fellowship is an angel investing bootcamp for women philanthropists and currently operates in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.. 

Criteria
The Pipeline Fellowship's three main criteria are: 
a) Meeting one of the accredited investor definitions 
b) Interest in group learning model 
c) Passion for philanthropy and/or social change 

Commitment
The Pipeline Fellowship is a six-month angel investing bootcamp and the time commitment is approximately two full days per month during the six months.

The Pipeline Fellowship program fee is US$4.5k. Each Pipeline Fellow also commits to invest US$5k in the same woman-led for-profit social venture at the end of the program.

Application Process

 

The Pipeline Fellowship trains women philanthropists to become angel investors through education, mentoring, and practice. Fellows commit to invest in a woman-led for-profit social venture at the end of the training.

These are the criteria to qualify as an accredited investor:

The federal securities laws define the term accredited investor in Rule 501 of Regulation D as:

  • a bank, insurance company, registered investment company, business development company, or small business investment company;
  • an employee benefit plan, within the meaning of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, if a bank, insurance company, or registered investment adviser makes the investment decisions, or if the plan has total assets in excess of US$5 million;
  • a charitable organization, corporation, or partnership with assets exceeding US$5 million;
  • a director, executive officer, or general partner of the company selling the securities;
  • a business in which all the equity owners are accredited investors;
  • a natural person who has individual net worth, or joint net worth with the person’s spouse, that exceeds US$1 million at the time of the purchase;
  • a natural person with income exceeding US$200,000 in each of the two most recent years or joint income with a spouse exceeding US$300,000 for those years and a reasonable expectation of the same income level in the current year; or
  • a trust with assets in excess of US$5 million, not formed to acquire the securities offered, whose purchases a sophisticated person makes.
